Madeon, real name Hugo Leclercq, is still unsigned to any major label. But since Madeon is only 17 years old, I think he’ll be just fine. In the span of just a little over a year, the young Frenchman has managed to capture the attention of dance music enthusiasts everywhere. His remixes for popular artists Yelle and Deadmau5, original tracks, and extremely popular mashups (“Pop Culture”) have garnered him worldwide attention.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE:
You’ve watched the “Pop Culture” mash-up, right? Uploaded in July of 2011, the video has since been viewed well over eight million times. In the short 3.5-minute clip, the young producer and remixer extraordinaire managed to mash-up 39 tracks all on his Novation Launchpad. The word “amazing” does not begin to describe the creativity and talent Madeon possesses. His music sensibilities are pretty wide and vary from house and electronic to pop music.
The vast majority of his touring has been overseas, so at the moment, these sets at Coachella (April 13 & 20) are two of only three performances that Madeon will be making in North America for the foreseeable future. If you manage to make it out to Indio, CA in April, do not miss out on Madeon.
IF YOU CAN:
Before playing Coachella, Madeon will be in France, Vienna, Rome, the Netherlands, and South Padre Island in Texas. Madeon will also play the Landstreffet Festival in Norway, and will be at the historic Milton Keynes National Bowl in the UK opening up for Swedish House Mafia.
