The Flaming Lips, formed in Oklahoma City in 1983, are this week’s featured artist on eventseeker. Their rock music and shows are known the world over, featuring a mix of multi-layered arrangements, with psychedelic undertones. Their live concerts involve elaborate costumes, confetti, balloons, and a human-sized bubble that the lead singer, Wayne Coyne, gets inside through the crowd. The UK magazine Q named the Flaming Lips one of the “50 Bands to See Before You Die.” Their latest album, The Terror will be released on April 1 in Europe, and April 2 in the US.
