The infamous San Francisco fog gave way to sunny skies and weather suitable for swimwear last Saturday. The temperature was raised even higher at Project Inform’s SwimWear For A Cause runway fundraiser. Project Inform is an organization that promotes activism and leadership to end HIV/AIDS. The organization was founded in 1985 and continues to educate people living with HIV about HIV care and treatment. Held poolside at the chic Phoenix Hotel, the runway event not only raised the heat but more importantly, raised awareness about this admirable organization.
Guests gather in anticipation for the show.
Guests mingled poolside, and lounged in cabanas. They soaked in the sun, sipped fruity cocktails, and nibbled on scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. The air was filled with a warm summer breeze and sounds from a stellar set spun by DJ DCM.

The show kicked off with an educational speech about awareness by Project Inform’s Executive Director, Dana Van Gorder. As the sun shone, models, provided by City Model Management, began parading around the pool donning the latest in swimwear.
Swimwear provided by Speedo and Macy’s were showcased. A few of the lines that were shown included DKNY, Nanette Lepore and Michael Kors. The models revealed bright, bold, statement-making pieces. The models were adorned with chunky bangles at the wrist and beach bags on their arms. As if a nod to the Kentucky Derby, some models wore sun-blocking floppy hats.
As the sun began to set and the party winded down, gift bags were handed out. This event proved to be extremely hot–raising the heat, awareness and over $35,000! To learn more about Project Inform visit their site at www.projectinform.org.
