On August 30, Amoeba Records played host to a free live performance and autograph signing by local lo-fi indie rockers Two Gallants. The Bloom and the Blight is the newest offering from the tandem comprised of Adam Stephens and Tyson Vogel, and although the album didn’t officially see release until this week, the event was an opportunity for the band to give its fans the chance to check out the album ahead of time. In-store intimate performances such as this help foster a real sense of community between many fans and artists, which is something that is commonplace for the venerable record store.
The band played an abbreviated but sweet set, which consisted of Stephens and Vogel rocking out to some tunes off the new album as well as older cuts like “Steady Rollin’ to a very enthusiastic crowd. Later that night, Two Gallants headlined the Independent, then hit up Southern California with an appearance at Fuck Yeah Festival over this past weekend in Los Angeles. Presently, Adam and Tyson are back on the road with stops throughout North America including Texas, Louisiana New York, and Canada, then are set to travel across the Atlantic for a number of European dates thereafter.
Meanwhile, Amoeba’s upcoming in-store events are Nude Beach on September 17 and Django Django on September 25. Peep the photographs from Two Gallants’ performance at Amoeba taken by Simone DaSilva after the jump.
