Silicon Valley is the technology capital of the world, with companies like Google, Salesforce and Apple at the head of an elite force of high-tech corporations that call it home. But it’s not only digital technology that’s growing and advancing — Technology and the food industry have also partnered up over the last few years, resulting in events like last weekend’s Bite Silicon Valley.
Held at the Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, the three-day food and wine festival featured Grand Tastings and cooking demonstrations with local restaurants, wineries and celebrity chefs, as well as seminars about the latest trends and developments in the industry. We were excited to learn more about 3D food printing, solar cooking and state-of-the-art animal product substitutes for vegans and vegetarians. The perfect combination of educational and delicious, Bite Silicon Valley also encouraged visitors to think about and discuss serious topics such as food waste, hunger and GMOs.
