Who knew Pee-Wee Herman could inspire a music group of lady Brooklynites? Erika Forster, Annie Hart and Heather D’Angelo form the dream-pop projectors, Au Revoir Simone. After Erika and and Annie hit it off on a train ride to NYC, they decided to start an all-keyboard band. Vincent Moon directed their Take-Away Show that gave them the press to hit it big – ARS soon toured with We Are Scientists and Peter, Bjorn and John, just before taking a dip into the festival circuit, visiting Treasure Island, Moonlith and Lovebox music festivals. ARS describe themselves as, “warm electronic music with forthright female vocalists.”
From Robert Normand’s Paris fashion show to a Cheerios commercial, Au Revoir Simone has graced the commercial, fashion, and film worlds with their sound. Last week, they stopped at the 9:30 Club in D.C., and eventseeker photographer, Andrew Markoiwitz, was there to snap the night.
